A New Segment for Ellis DownHome – “Rooted”

My name is Jackson Trull. Many of you may know me from our DownHome/ Up Close videos. I have been with DownHome for 3 years, and I enjoy making videos and meeting a lot of different people. I’m 19 years old, and I just graduated from high school in the spring of ‘23. I have grown up in Waxahachie, and love living here.

As long as I can remember I have always had a deep fascination with the art of storytelling. Whether it was movies, cartoons, or comic books, I was endlessly infatuated with it all. These past few months I have started to create a lot of artwork. It has been a very fulfilling hobby for me and I’m super excited to share my work.

This week I’ll be sharing details about the logo I designed for this segment.

When I was designing this logo I wanted something simple but I also wanted it to have a level of depth and complexity. I chose the name “Rooted” to symbolize that we’re all connected and beautifully crafted by God, and as a reminder that no matter what – we are all God’s children. I used crayons outside the lines to create leaves for the tree to symbolize childlike wonder and innocence. I believe that beauty can be found in any medium of art and that all art has the power to connect us through God, and contribute to His great and overwhelming love and forgiveness that surpasses all understanding.

“Rooted” will be posted on Thursdays here on ellisdownhome.com.

See you next Thursday, I can’t wait to share more!
