We want to tell all our readers about great SPAs to visit and we need your help. Send us your stories, photos, videos, pros and cons…….all the info and your opinions about SPAs in the Metroplex and throughout Texas. Here’s why our mission needs your input.
Generally speaking, we try to change our primary articles every 2 weeks. That would be 27 different lead articles every year. It’s unlikely that any one writer would have visited that many different SPAs over a 12 month span. But you and our readers have. And, that is why we would like to feature your likes and dislikes and behind the scenes, personal accounts of the health, fitness and just pure relaxation of SPAs you have visited.
According to Anitra Brown, a SPA authority who has published very informative articles on tripsavvy.com, there are an estimated 20,000 different SPAs in the United States, including:
- Day Spas: Establishments where you can receive massage, facial or other body relaxation or wellness services which normally consist of 1-2 hours of treatment.
- Destination Spas: Operations specifically concentrating on a whole environment “geared to promoting a healthy lifestyle, with lots of exercise classes, lectures aimed at physical and mental wellness, and special interest programs such as hiking.” These institutions generally require a 2-3 night stay.
- Resort and Hotel Spas: Lodgings which many times offer a variety of recreational activities (i.e. golf, tennis, swimming/beach, exercise, etc.). There are an estimated 2,000 resorts and hotel spas in the U.S. Most cruise lines now offer many spa-like amenities which simulate those found at resorts.
There are other SPAs offering specialty services such as mineral springs, medical or clubs.
I recommend following Anitra Brown on the Trip Savvy website to get a professional perspective on SPAs and there services.
We need your experiences. Send in short comments or full articles (300-500 words) and photos or videos of SPAs you visited in Texas, the United States, on cruises or anywhere in the world. There are a lot of folks who would enjoy reading what you contribute.
