National Susan B. Anthony Day

February 15

Susan B. Anthony was circulating anti-slavery petitions when she was 16 and 17 years old. She and Cady Stanton formed the American Equal Rights Association in 1866 which campaigned for equal rights for both women and African Americans. She is honored as the driving force for the passage of the 19th Amendment which gave the right to women to vote.

National Bad Breath Day

February 15

This day is dedicated to stopping those embarrassing moments when you realize your breath has a foul order. Some of the causes of halitosis (the medical term for bad breath) are foods such as onions, garlic, canned tuna, horseradish and several different types of beverages including coffee and alcohol. Certain kinds of medications, such as sedatives, antidepressants, antihistamines, anorexiants, and antipsychotics can all play a major role in the development of halitosis. Xerostomia, or dry mouth, can be a contributor. And there are other causes ranging from dentures and tobacco to acid reflex. The remedies:  clean your teeth after every meal, use mouth wash and take breath mints.
