Love Your Neighbor – February

Love your enemies!

By definition, an enemy is a person who actively opposes someone or something. Know anyone like that? How do you deal with it?

The word of the month for February is “Love” – “Love your enemies and pray for them” – Matthew 5:44.

You may respond with, “Are you kidding me? There is no way I am praying for so-and-so. She has gossiped about me all over town. He cheated me out of a business deal. They have lied about me during the election campaign.”

And the claims go on and on. We can all identify with someone who has wronged us. What if you responded with an attitude of “Love”? Would it make a difference? A resounding “YES”!! Was LOVE important in the days of our Lord? The word, “LOVE” is mentioned:

KJV: 131 times in the Old Testament, and 179 times in the New Testament

Our Lord recognized the need for us to show love as a means to get along better with our fellow man.

Action needed: This month, plant the seed of love with God’s Word:  “Love your enemies and pray for them”. You CAN make a difference by doing it!
