Becky’s Kitchen: BBQ Sloppy Joes


  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons onion soup mix
  • Hamburger buns or slider buns
  • Coleslaw (optional) 
  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat for 4 to 6 minutes, or until browned and crumble; drain.
  2. Stir in 1 cup of water, tomato paste, barbecue sauce, and soup mix until combined.
  3. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, or until thickened.
  4. To serve, spoon ground beef mixture over bottom halves of buns. Top each with 13 cup of coleslaw. Cover with top halves of buns.
