Burnout, a physical or mental collapse caused by overwork and/or stress.
Has your passion slowly faded away? Do you feel numb at times? How about irritable or easily angered? Everyone and everything seem to drain you, and nothing seems to satisfy you. It is even hard to think straight at times and life seems so unproductive. It has become easier to frown than to smile. Perhaps you have even turned to self-medicating. No amount of sleep or rest seems to rejuvenate you? …if so, maybe you are experiencing burnout.
I have been there, but listen, this too shall pass!
First off, turn to God…He will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” After all rest is exactly what you feel you need when experiencing burnout.
You can sit and think of all these things that you think you need, but honestly you need more of God!
Also, remember that God will carry you through the storm. Isaiah 43:2
Tell yourself that now is time to take a chill and relax! Get plugged in, sit back and relax while allowing God to recharge you.
Yes, you can chill and relax and yet be productive in life. The Bible says, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow.” Proverbs 10:22
Just remember to prioritize things and not overload yourself with unnecessary work.
What is unnecessary? Well, I am glad you asked. In order to win this battle, you must W.I.N. (focus on What’s Important Now)
Pressures of life will weigh you down any time you allow them to. Stop trying to keep up with everything and just keep your head lifted to God.
Do not be so busy making a living, that you forget to live.
Now unlearn some of those hard work principles that you have learned and learn to enjoy life without burning out!
You are more than a conqueror…now let go and let God!
God bless you,
