Exclusively Engineered

God created each of us different and there is nothing wrong with that. Our differences should not separate us, they should do exactly what God designed them to do which is to make us unique. Each of us have been exclusively engineered as a part of humanity. A human race that is beautiful!

But what is beautiful? Beautiful is and can be an array of things. It is often said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have found this statement to be so true! For instance, one can believe one thing to be beautiful when the person standing next to them begs to differ.

Once I was watching a reality television show on HGTV and there was a neighborhood that a couple greatly desired to buy a house in. The show host went on to say that this neighborhood was ranked high among the most beautiful neighborhoods in Atlanta. Well, I just could not see it! The houses that they were considering to be beautiful were horrific in my eyes. They had vines growing up the sides of them that covered most of the bricks. To me they looked as if they should have been displayed in some horror movie, yet to others these houses were beautiful. Again, beauty cannot be judged objectively, for what one person finds beautiful or admirable may not appeal to another. In fact, God is the only One who sees all things that He created as good. Genesis 1:31 says, “And God saw everything that He made, and, behold, it was very good.” Notice that He said, “…it was very good.” and not that it looked very good.

Let us look at the beauty of humanity – beauty is not defined only by outward appearance. In the 16th chapter of 1st Samuel the Lord said to Samuel, “I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.” The Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Society needs to adopt this mindset and not see beauty as an outward appearance only. God created man in His very own image and God is beyond doubt beautiful! Humanity, God’s marvelous creation, needs to accept that we differ in many ways – yet were all created beautiful. Diversity is beautiful in humanity, but division is ugly! Therefore, if we look at beauty from the outward approach only, we fail to see beauty the way God intended us to. Unfortunately, we often let race, color, and other aesthetics determine who we think is beautiful when in fact beauty is only skin deep.

External attractiveness has no relation to true beauty! Let us change our perception of one another and accept that beauty could be within every neighborhood and every race of mankind.

God bless you,
