Faithful Over A Few

“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will set you over many things.” These are the words of our Lord in the book of Matthew chapter 25, verse 21.

Many of us want to do big things for God; however, we despise starting small. But Zechariah 4:10 tells us, “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”

To despise is to look down on with strong dislike and have an incredibly low opinion of. Stop counting your small beginning as if it is nothing. But be faithful over it and see it as a tiny seed of hope. In fact, the big things done for God often start as small seeds. And when we learn to focus on and rejoice over that seed, we will then realize that it is a sign of greater things soon to come.

Do not lose heart and despise the start that God has allowed you. Remember that you do not have to be great to start; however, you do have to start in order to be great. Be faithful in whatever it is that you are doing and watch it grow into more.

The Apostle Paul tells us in Philippians 1:6, “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion until the day of Jesus Christ returns.”

God is the Author and the Finisher of our faith, and everything else in our lives. Be faithful over the few and watch Him make you ruler over the many. Trust that He can and trust that He will.

Be faithful over the few!!!

God bless you,
