The strategic use of jump scares and a haunting soundtrack further contribute to the film’s ability to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, though many fans wishing an R rating, as to fully capture the dark and complex aspects of the lore. Although the limits the film successfully maintains the essence of the game’s immersive horror experience, creating a captivating narrative that leaves a lasting impact.

While staying pretty true to its source material, the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” movie also introduces some new elements that expand on the game’s lore. Columbus takes the opportunity to delve deeper into the backstory of the haunted animatronics and the mysteries surrounding the fictional pizzeria. This added layer of storytelling adds depth to the film and offers something new for fans who may already be familiar with the games. The exploration of character motivations and the consequences of past actions contributes to a more engaging and comprehensive narrative.
