One of the definitions of focus is to pay particular attention to. I would like to encourage you today to begin to focus on God and the good things of life. The Bible encourages us in Philippians 4:8 with the words, “…Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
God speaks to us in Isaiah 26:3 through the Prophet Isaiah as Isaiah speaks to God saying, “You will keep in perfect peace those who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!”
It is so easy to get distracted, rattled, and off track when your focus is on the problem(s) and not the Solution. God is the solution! The Bible tells me that there is nothing too hard for God. Therefore, why do we worry and why do we fret? Has God failed you yet?
We must fix our focus on the Lord! My spiritual father once shared a story many years ago while preaching a sermon that talked about the horse caught in the thicket. So from my understanding, the best way to lead a horse out of the thicket is to not allow it to focus on the mess it is in, but to force it to look up as the rider guides it out of the mess. Psalm writer encourages us with “A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.” Psalm 121:1
Let us lift up our eyes and focus on the power of Almighty God! Again, there is nothing too hard for Him. Do not allow the distractions of all that is going on in the world to cause you to panic. Adam and Eve were enjoying the good life ordained by God and suddenly, they were distracted which led to the fall of man. Judas followed Christ and suddenly became distracted which led to great sorrow and Judas hanging himself.
Keep your eyes fixed on God and focus on the many promises He has for you and do not allow the enemy to keep you distracted. After all, he can not stop God’s blessings; however, he can hinder you from obtaining them by keeping you distracted.
Focus on God!
God bless you,
