Mardi Gras Celebration

Mardi Gras is all about music, parades, picnics, floats and so much excitement! Party goers know to dress in costumes of green, gold and purple and wear their colored beads that have been collected from the past celebration. Many colored beads are thrown from the parade floats and kept all year long. Traditionally, there are roots stemming all the way back to Medieval Europe for this holiday. Eventually, New Orleans became the American destination for Mardi Gras, and the city explodes each year with visitors from all over the world. Mardi Gras brings people together – whether you’re friends or family, there’s so much fun to be had. And you don’t have to travel all the way to Louisiana – many cities have their own celebrations, and you can even have your own!
