The ancient Egyptians preserved fruit and nuts by encasing them with honey. The word “candy” first appeared in Middle English towards the end of the 13th century. Today, Americans eat an average of 25 pounds of candy every year. The two leading brands of candy in the U.S. are M&Ms and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

King Tut Tomb Discovered

November 4, 1922

Tutankhamen, the child king of Egypt, better known as King Tut, was nine when he died.  He was buried in Luxor, Egypt in the year 1352 BC. More than 3,200 years later his tomb was discovered, and the contents are now enshrined in the National Museum of Cairo.
