Rooted: The Child Within

When I was four years old, I was introduced to something that would forever change my life – Star Wars. Star Wars has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether it was watching the movies over and over again or playing with my Star Wars toys and Legos I enjoyed every minute of it. Perhaps my favorite of these childhood memories was my obsession with the Cartoon Network series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

This week’s art piece is inspired by an iconic scene from this series. I made this piece as a reminder to take care of the little boy who always loved Star Wars and to preserve these cherished childhood memories.

As we age, sometimes we find ourselves looking back and just wanting to be kids again. Life is full of confusing ups and downs, and it can be very easy to get lost and consumed by fear – but there is always hope. I personally believe that hope has the power to conquer darkness and fear. Hope is the central message in the Star Wars story and that is something that I am proud to have learned from it.
