Sage Hill Inn & Spa

I packed away all my design boards and turned my computer off for a weekend away full of nature and gorgeous sunsets, and I figure it’s time to share this hidden gem – Sage Hill Inn & Spa located just south of Austin.

I just wrapped up my fifth visit to the Inn, so clearly it’s a favorite destination of mine. The Inn offers beautiful accommodations, private cottages, sweeping views of the Texas Hill Country, and a front row seat to colorful sunsets. It has a B&B feel, with a small number of guests and attention to detail. Sage Hill provides breakfast and dinner to its guests, and is included in your stay. The beautiful gardens on site are full of vegetables, and the menu is based off of what is in season, fresh from the garden, or locally sourced. I find that when you dine on site, it allows much more time to relax and recharge.

Sage Hill also offers Spa services in a precious cottage located in the garden. We were not able to book spa services this visit (due to the COVID-19 restrictions still in place), but last time we enjoyed a fabulous couples massage. The Inn also has a beautiful pool and hot tub, located under two sprawling trees, and perched a top a hill overlooking trees and hiking trails.

I love the slow pace and simplicity of the Inn. We love to walk the hiking trails, stopping here and there to sit and rest under one of the tree swings. We also enjoyed seeing deer in and around our cottage, and even saw a wild turkey. With no schedule, no set times for meals, and peace and quiet, it is the perfect place to recharge.

After weeks on end indoors, this getaway was perfect to celebrate 9 years of marriage! Sage Hill is a great getaway for couples or a girls weekend. Located just 3 hours away, it’s a quick but wonderful weekend trip!
