Going through something? Got a battle on your hands?
Listen, “…despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” Romans 8:37
As believers we have an opposition who is dedicated to our destruction; however, we must know that any battle we face is ours for the winning.
These trials and battles we face may slow us down, and may even at times knock us down, but they cannot stop us from the victory through Christ. In 2 Corinthians 2:14 we are told that, “God, …always causes us to triumph through Christ.”
Notice that the scriptures continue to tell us that the victory is ours through Christ. What?
Yes, through Christ! It is in Christ ONLY that we can be assured these victories. But outside of Christ we are no match for the enemy.
I am reminded of a biblical story found in the 19th chapter of the book of Acts: “Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.”
Wow! Again, the power for the victory is found in Christ and Christ alone. “Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
Going through something? Got a battle on your hands?
Know that it does not matter who is against you. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
So, in times of trouble and in times of doubt, let us remember Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
Through Christ, the victory belongs to you!!!
God bless you,
