WAXAHACHIE, TX— Enjoy a free tour of the historic McKinney-Aday Farmhouse during the Gingerbread Trail weekend, June 3 and 4, 2023, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Ellis County Rural Heritage Farm Inc, 130 Cunningham Meadows Road, Waxahachie, TX  75167.

The historical and architectural significance of the beautifully restored 1913 Prairie-style McKinney-Aday Farmhouse has been acknowledged by its being awarded a Historic Waxahachie, Inc. marker in 2012 and designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark by the Texas State Historical Commission in 2013.

The McKinney-Aday Farmhouse represents a living history opportunity to appreciate the durable beauty of the Prairie-style farm homes that formerly dotted the rural Ellis County landscape.

The farmhouse is fully appointed with early to middle 20th century furnishings to reflect the home life of early Ellis County farm families.  The furnishings fit within the Arts and Crafts Movement that began in the mid-19th century in Britain in response to the Industrial Revolution and emphasized handcrafted furnishings and designs.
