Why We Should Be Thankful: Monday Motivation November 20, 2023

President George Washington proclaimed on October 3, 1789, designating Thursday, November 26, as a national day of thanks. In his proclamation, Washington declared that the necessity for such a day sprung from the Almighty’s care of Americans before the Revolution, assisting them in achieving independence and establishing the constitutional government. I remain thankful for all of these and for my family, our health, a roof over our heads, food on the table, the opportunity to contribute, and that we live in America, the greatest country in the world!

America is great because America is good. America is good because some men and women have done and continue to do what is good and righteous. I have stood with many of these Americans in some of the most challenging circumstances and battlefields. We will remain good and great if we have these Americans of character, patriotism, and faith. So, today, I’m thankful for America and the good and righteous Americans. Happy Thanksgiving, and May God grant our Republic many more blessed years.
