Mark your calendar for the annual Creative Quilters Guild of Ellis County quilt trade show taking place between 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Sokol Hall located at 2622 Hwy. 34 in Ennis, TX. This event showcases products like contemporary quilts, arts quilts, group quilts, theme quilts, carnival colors, patterns, design files and more.
The Creative Quilters Guild of Ellis County membership is open to anyone interested in quilts or quilting. Members receive a monthly newsletter, a directory of members, use of the guild library as well as monthly meetings and workshops.
Over the years, the Creative Quilters Guild of Ellis County has volunteered and contributed many handmade items for local groups, some of which are
- Lap quilts for veterans, church groups and assisted living centers
- Pillowcases filled with school supplies and/or toiletries for area children
- Baby quilts, tote bags, crayon totes for DPS children and children’s hospitals
- Fleece hats, neck pillows, sugery pillows and ice bag covers for hospital patients
- Food donations for churches and food pantries
- Quilts for victims of natural disasters
